If your really interested in working w/ CalFire I would stop by and talk to a station Captain, Engineer, BC or all 3 and ask them how to start and be able to move anywhere in the state as they hire more in the South then in the North. Nothing against IHC's but nothing wrong with engines or heli-tack to give some diversity which all should help anywhere you go. Of course as others said any type of advanced med certs really help.
