The winds are really picking up in Reno, NV. How's the fire holding?

Re: CA-NEU-Robbers-?
I'm curious about a tactical question. How do they reinforce it when it backs down to the American River, for instance? Hike a bunch of crews in with hose and Mark 3s or Floto Pumps? Use back pack pumps? Throw all burning material into the river? Paint the other side with retardant?

Currently they are painting the hill with retardant. I don't know if they have done it yet on that ridge line, but they also cutting dozer trails along the ridges

Re: CA-NEU-Robbers-?
Well, your question will be asked with several other questions to come up with an appropriate answer, such as the typical, 'what are the fuels, weather, and topography like?'...there are various components that have to be factored in with making a tactical decisions.
Simple tactic for the question would be to evaluate the three factors mentioned above, evaluate the fire behavior, (previous, current, and expected), establish a starting and ending point, then lay fire on the ground, using the river as a natural barrier and using the topography to carry the fire up to the main fire, while keeping your situational awareness up with 10/18/LCES.

Just to kinda put an end to the Robbers Fire--Cal Fire announced today the arrest of at 28 year old male from Sacramento for starting the Robbers Fire with an unspecified pyrotechnic device. There were several charges announced in the press briefing, all misdemeanor (I believe).
