    Default Drip torch fuel question

We have been told that we need to change our mixture from Diesel/Gas to Diesel/Kerosene. Has anyone had any luck with this and if so what ratios?

haven't used that one, but have used a mix of used motor oil awaiting recycle with gasoline, mix about the same, and couldn't really tell the difference. Kerosene is so close to diesel it should work nearly identically I'd think, although there may be someone here with differing experiences.

I would think that a Diesel/Kerosene mix if you get it lit, will put off a lot of pollutants (black smoke and particulates, such as a diesel engine)

Could you have meant Gas/Kerosene ? And if that is the case, torch fuel will increase greatly. If you can find it kerosene is not usually inexpensive. Have seen it in hardware stores for as much as 10 to 14 dollars per gallon.
I know it can be purchased for less in quantities , but you have to have the right marketeer around and storage capability.
Most fire camps have diesel fuel.

We tested it and it is hard to get lit (which raised the question) and it does smoke alot. I was talking about Diesel/Kerosene because we had an injury due to the diesel/gas mix (which works well) and it was decided that as an agency we needed to change. We can get it at $4 a gallon at the gas station

Kerosene has a flashpoint which is comparable to diesel. I'm under the impression that the diesel is to keep the flash down on the gas (flashpoint -45F). Good luck keeping a torch lit!
