    Default Fire Shelter Rules

I am currently a volunteer firefighter in California and work for Cal-Fire. The volunteers currently use the old generation fire shelters and don't know if there is a law or "recommendation" to start using the new generation shelters. I use a new generation shelter cause of my employment with Cal-Fire. Can someone point me in the right direction if I should recommend to the chief to purchase some of the new generation shelters?

    Default Re: Fire Shelter Rules

The last year the old generation shelters were supposed to be allowed was 2010. Last fire season was supposed to be no more old shelters. I will follow up this post with a concrete link citing a more authoritive source than someone on a chat board. However i can assure you that if anyone shows up to a fire with an old gen shelter that my team is assigned to will diplomatically be asked to go to supply and check out a new gen shelter.
