fire got a bit of rain yesterday afternoon and is probably getting more this afternoon. we received only 0.07" at our house 5 mi east of the fire, but a gauge at the NW corner of the fire area reported 0.74" this morning. a slow-mover is moving across the fire area right now and is hopefully dropping some moisture.

High Park fire is now 100% contained; all evacuation orders have been lifted as of yesterday and Highway 14 has been reopened. Some areas of the fire received as much as 1/2 inch of rain the other day. ICP is now at the Pingree Park Campus as they continue to patrol and mop up that western edge of the fire.

Mishawaka Amphitheater, or "The Mish" as it's known to us locals, is a great venue right on the Poudre River that has been around for a while. People back home have been passing around this note (or try here if you have facebook) that they found when they finally returned... I thought it was pretty cool.

There was flooding yesterday in the fire area and a landslide closed Highway 14 for a period of time. Residents along Highway 14 between Mishawaka and Gateway Park continue to be under pre-evacuation notice because of concerns associated with flooding. Today there was flooding all around Larimer County as well. The monsoons are in full swing, these are a hit or miss sort of thing on how much moisture any given area gets out of it in CO.
